Dec 20, 2012 The 15th Annual Reindeer Romp Fairmount / Art Museum area
Last night while the kiddies were having dreams of ginger bread, candy canes, and holiday wishes I was covering the 15th annual Reindeer Romp in the Fairmount/ Art Museum area.
Always around this time of the year about 1000 + people gather and participate in the Reindeer Romp in the Fairmount/ Art Museum area. The 11 participating FAIRMOUNT-AREA BARS (Rembrant's, The Brown Street Pub, Bridgid's, Bishop's Collar, La Calaca Feliz, London Grill, Urban Saloon, Belgian Cafe, Green Room, Philly Pub 'n Grub and St Stephen's Green) are "drop off points" for the toys and clothes.
This year the streets were packed with people getting in the Holiday spirit wearing Reindeer antlers, ugly X-mas sweaters, socks, pants …. you name it for a reciprocal cause. Bring a small toy and $10 and you get antlers and great drink specials while you ROMP around Fairmount for the Season's Favorite Bar Crawl to Support Charity "Feel The Warmth.org" Sponsored by Sam Adams. This event has been going on for the last 15 years.
Feel The Warmth is a non-profit formed to supply the less fortunate with school supplies, toys and winter coats.
